Iuleana, the Sculptor

On our way to Boystown over the weekend, we had the chance to meet Iuleana. Unlike most passengers we sat next to that day, Iuleana approached us before we had the chance to approach her. The result was an enjoyable conversation about art and the beauty that exists in everyday things...
Like us (and it seems every single passenger we've met!), Iuleana loves the Art Institute. She loves walking through the impressionist gallery and being immersed in the experience.
She and her family came here from Romania many years ago, so that she could become a ceramics sculptor. In her daily life, she looks for things that will inspire her and that she can incorporate into her art. As we talked, Iuleana smiled and spoke about how happy, open-hearted people bring her happiness and inspiration.
Then (such a pleasant and funny little surprise!), Iuleana decided to take several pictures of us too, so that she could remember us, as we will always remember her. Perhaps those pictures might become incorporated into one of her ceramic pieces one day. :)
