El Stories - A Performance

A friend recently shared EL Stories: Real Life Mass-transit Adventures with me. It sounds a lot like Marooned on the Subway, but onstage! The Waltzing Mechanics is a performance group that recently created an original theatrical work out of conversations with real Chicago commuters they met on the El. They've taken stories from citizens of various backgrounds and neighborhoods and turned them into a train ride that explores how Chicagoans interact as a community. Would you see it?

  1. Fantastic idea for a blog! You really dive into beautiful character sketches of these real people who share our train cars. Let me know if you ever make it down to EL STORIES, as I'd enjoy meeting you and hearing about your interview techniques with fellow commuters. And I'm sure you have some brilliant transit tales of your own to share!
